The big news, per ROCK’s newsletter:

Town of Clarksville vs. Josh Janzten (Theatair X) will be heard by Washington County Circuit Court Judge Robert Bennett on Tuesday, Oct. 20th, at 1:30 p.m. This hearing will address Theatair X’s motion to dismiss the Oct. 3, 2008 citation issued for being open for 24 hours and the additional 4 citations issued May 14th after the WAVE 3 investigative report on Theatair X.

Theatair X’s defense seems to center on proving the Clarksville ordinance on adult businesesses unconstitutional. We will, of course, continue to keep a careful eye on this.

From Feministe, Another brief gripe about the dearth of accessible sex worker history.

Check out a disgusting display of sex-negativity (thankfully, presented with some snark) here.

Though Obama cut funding for abstinence-only, look what’s slipped past in Ohio.

You know the hate group, the <a href="National Organization for Marriage? Gawker profiles its leader.

In Italy, Berlusconi’s chauvinist antics are coming under fire.

The newest list of banned books is out. Notice how many classics make the list, and how frequently sexual content is cited. (You can view all of the American Library Association’s data here.) If PAPER may be so bold, we ask that you read at least one banned book this year.
